Greenlights Strengthens EcoRise Youth Innovations

EcoRise Youth InnovationsA nationally acclaimed organization, EcoRise Youth Innovations offers a compelling program to underserved high schools, introducing students to promising “green” careers and helping them design and implement projects to promote an environmentally sustainable campus. In 2010, EcoRise Youth Innovations graduated 155 students from its environmental leadership course, brought 20 design professionals into the classroom, and worked with 120 volunteers who gave more than 5,000 hours.

Greenlights Strengthens College Forward

College ForwardCollege Forward was launched in 2003 after recognizing a critical need to expand college access to economically disadvantaged students. Starting in just one Hays County school, College Forward has grown to serve 14 schools in the Greater Austin and Houston areas. The organization has experienced significant growth, with 99% of their students accepted into college and an 83% college persistence rate. However, with such growth and success, it is crucial to maintain a staff and board large enough to handle the growing capacity.

Greenlights Strengthens Manos de Cristo

Manos de CristoManos de Cristo was founded in 1988 to promote dignity and self-reliance for low income people through services such as dental care, educational development, and meeting basic food and clothing needs. The Dental Clinic opened in 1990 and continues to be the only low-fee dental clinic in Austin, providing over $1 million in free dental services every year.
