Have you been asked to keep your organization’s books? Are you or others in your organization nervous or scared that you really don’t know what’s needed to do this well? Learn the fundamentals of bookkeeping, accounting and financial management in this workshop for nonprofit staff and board members, especially board treasurers who are given this important responsibility. Understand various financial terms, accounting principles and systems for tracking your transactions, the how's and why's of generating financial statements, and more.

Clay Newman, CPA
Clay currently owns his own accounting firm which provides financial services to the nonprofit and government sectors.  He is a certified public account who has a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy from Texas State University. During his career he has worked in the accounting and budget arena for the nonprofit, government, and private sectors. Previously, Clay was the CFO for Greenlights and Texas CASA.  He has also served as a Senior Auditor at the State Auditors Office, a Budget Director for the Texas Workforce Commission, and taught accounting at Austin Community College.  In his free time, he loves to bicycle and travel.
